The spirit of photography has always been close. Walking with a camera is like an excuse to wander around the world and actually look at it. The ocean, the jungle, some forgotten island or even the chaos of Bangkok all suddenly become material once the lens is there. Every place throws its own surprises. The water has energy, the wild has mystery, the city has a glow that changes by the minute. Sometimes it is people or animals, sometimes it is just a shadow that looked more interesting than it probably should. For me each photograph is a way to hold on to the feeling of being there. Sometimes it stays personal, sometimes I share it with the people closest to me, and sometimes with anyone who might also catch that same spark. When that happens, the work is done.
